Arriving at Geneva Airport
Unless your flight is a domestic one from France, you come out on the Swiss side, and that is where every transfer, shuttle and coach to Chamonix starts. The airport names no meeting point for drivers, so the place you meet is the one your operator gives you.
Swiss side or French side
Geneva Airport sits on the border and has two exits. The Swiss side is the main terminal. The French sector serves domestic flights to France and opens onto the Pays de Gex, Divonne-les-Bains, Bellegarde and the French Jura. Nearly all international arrivals, UK flights included, exit on the Swiss side.
The two are not interchangeable. By road the French sector is reached only through the customs road from Ferney-Voltaire, which pedestrians and cyclists cannot use. Its car park, P20, has 214 spaces and is five minutes on foot. Passengers may cross between the sectors only with a flight ticket for the same day, plus or minus one day, and the airport says passengers on international flights cannot reach France without travelling through Switzerland. If someone tells you to use the French side
Ask them which sector your flight is handled in before you land. For a flight from the UK or anywhere else outside France, expect the Swiss side. Chamonix is in France, but that does not change which door you leave by.

For a winter weekend this matters. A shuttle you were told would be at P6 may be at P33 or P4 instead, so check the message from your operator on landing day.

Stay inside the arrivals hall on the Swiss side rather than going out to the kerb. Read the booking again for the meeting point and the operator's phone number, then call that number, not one given to you by someone who approaches you in the hall. Do not walk to Kiss and Fly to wait, because pick-up is not permitted there.
How long a driver waits for a delayed flight, and what happens if you miss each other, is set by each operator. Read it before you book, not after you land. Which side of Geneva Airport do I arrive on for Chamonix?
The Swiss side, for nearly every international flight, UK flights included. Transfers, shuttles and coaches to Chamonix start from there. The French sector exit is only for flights handled in the French sector.
Can I leave through the French sector to skip Switzerland?
Only if your flight is handled there, which mostly means domestic flights to France. Genève Aéroport says passengers on international flights cannot reach France without travelling through Switzerland. Crossing between the sectors needs a flight ticket for the same day, plus or minus one day.
Where do Chamonix shuttles pick up at Geneva Airport?
Coaches and shuttles with 9 or more seats must pick up at P6 Gare Routière, arrivals level. On winter weekends from December to April, shuttles paying per visit (category D) are not allowed into P6 and use car park P33 or P4 instead.
Can my driver collect me at Kiss and Fly?
No. Kiss and Fly is for dropping passengers off, and the airport states that pick-up there is not permitted. A car under 9 seats waits in a public car park such as P2.
Is there an official meeting point for transfer drivers?
No. The airport names none. Each operator states its own, so read it in your booking before you land.
