Geneva Airport to Les Houches
Les Houches is about 80 km from Geneva Airport, roughly 1 h 05 by car with no traffic. It is the first village of the Chamonix valley, about 7 km before Chamonix, so every transfer to Chamonix passes it, and it has its own station on the Mont-Blanc Express.
The road from Le Fayet climbs into the valley and reaches Les Houches before Chamonix. That makes it a slightly shorter trip than Chamonix itself (our comparison: 6.8 km less by road). For a car, your exact address matters more than the name of the village.

- Private transfer or taxi

- Shared shuttle
Mountain Drop-offs names Les Houches among the villages it covers, and ChamExpress says it runs shared transfers from the airport direct to accommodation in Chamonix, Les Houches and Argentière. Ask whether they drop at your door or at a nearby stop.
- Train
The station is called Les Houches, on the Mont-Blanc Express line between Saint-Gervais-les-Bains-Le Fayet and Chamonix. On a sample Saturday in October 2026 the 10:14 from the airport reached Les Houches at 12:53, after changes at Geneva Cornavin, Annemasse and Saint-Gervais. On the weekday we sampled, part of the trip ran as a bus and it took 3 h 39. The fares and the rest of the connection are on the train page.
- Coach
FlixBus stops in Chamonix Sud, not in Les Houches, so from there you would need to come back down the valley. See bus and shuttle.
Once you are in the valley
The Chamonix tourist office says the Guest Card, which your accommodation gives you on arrival, makes the train free between Servoz and Vallorcine. That covers Les Houches to Chamonix and on up the valley once you have checked in. It does not cover the trip from Geneva.
