Transfer and taxi prices
A private transfer from Geneva Airport to Chamonix is advertised at about 150 to 225 euros per vehicle, one way. Advertised starting prices for a shared shuttle seat run from 19.50 to 45 euros, the coach is from about 19 euros (SAT Mont-Blanc's advertised fare), and a Geneva taxi on the meter comes to about CHF 338.
Cost per person, by group size
Private cars and taxis are priced per vehicle, seats on shuttles and coaches per person. Divide the first two by the number of people and the answer changes quickly.

For one or two travellers the coach or a shared seat is the cheap way up. At three people a private car works out at 50 to 75 euros each, above every advertised shuttle seat. At four it is 38 to 56 euros each, overlapping the dearer shuttle starting prices (36 to 45 euros), and it goes straight to your door with nobody else to drop off. Roughly double for a return.

Those are starting prices. What you actually pay depends on the day (ATMB names Saturdays in the French school holidays as the A40's busiest days), the size of vehicle you need for your bags, and how far past Chamonix centre you are going. The Geneva taxi meter
Geneva's taxi fares are set by the canton. A trip that leaves the canton runs on the higher tariff, CHF 3.80 per km, and a pick-up at the airport starts at CHF 7.80. Each bag of 5 to 30 kg and each pair of skis costs CHF 1.50 more, and a bag over 30 kg CHF 3. On the 87 km to Chamonix that adds up to about CHF 338 before luggage. Tolls and other costs
